As the fights between AMMA and KFC continue, some actors and producers have formed another association, known as "Friends of Cinema". This new group was launched by veteran producer T.E.Vasudevan.

Friends of Cinema have been registered under the company's act and will cater to all like-minded individuals to come together for the sake of cinema. Director Joshi has been selected as the chairman of this group. Director Siddique has been appointed as the convener. Actor Dileep will take care of the treasury. Other members of this association are Mammootty, Mohanalal, Fazil, Sreenivasan, Lohithadas, Satyan Anthikkad.

"Friends of Cinema" has already got strong backing by superstars and able directors. 'Swargachitra' Appachan and 'Aroma' Mani, two leading distributors have also joined this group. Many actors who are literally at war with each others have buried their personal problems so that the problems faced by them in the industry can be solved.
