Just last week it was announced that Mammootty would be the brand ambassador for Coke in Kerala. But what followed after this announcement was a magnanimous protest, which now has resulted in Mammootty opting out of his contract with coke.

Many organizations and associations announced that they would boycott the superstar's film if he featured in the cola advertisement. Mammooty reacted to this saying that he had not signed the contract but had just a talk with the Coke officials. But Coke officials said that he had already completed a two-minute shoot for the product.

The agreement, which he has supposedly signed, has a heavy penalty clause but the company is not likely to impose it. Contrarily it has offered a huge sum to the actor to check its image slide in south India.
