Kamal's new film MUNTHIRIPOOKALUDE ADHITHI has been abandoned. The film has Soundarya and Prithviraj playing the lead roles. The reason cited for abandoning the project is that Soundarya has joined BJP and is contesting contesting elections to the Lok Sabha from Andhra Pradesh.

The shooting of this film was to start of this month on the 23rd. Kamal feels that no other actor can do the role, which was assigned to Soundarya. The story was about a matured woman, who is rich and runs her own business. She falls in love with a much younger guy. This role was to be played by Prithviraj.
