Geethu Mohandas is elated as Thenkasipattanam is running in packed houses. Now moviegoers recognize her for her excellent performance as Sangeetha in ' Thenkasipattanam'. She is the same lovely little child who gave an outstanding performance in Onnu Muthal Poojyamvare 14 years ago. In fact she was growing with Malayalam movie industry from the time of Superstars Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi. Her come back to the tinsel world was through Fazil's Life is Beautiful. Geethu, who is very ambitious about her future on the silver screen, speaks to indiainfo:

What were your feelings when you came back to the field after a long gap of 14 years?
It was so thrilling that I didn't expect this warm welcome. The care and love I received was so great that everyone was calling my pet name, Geethu forgetting my real name, Gayathri. I flew directly from Canada to Fazil uncle's home in Alappuzha for ' Life is Beautiful'. With patience and care Fazil Uncle gave me all instructions. Everyone was helpful throughout the shooting.

But the character in 'Life is Beautiful' missed the aim..?
The subject of the movie was ahead of our society's perceptions and thus film flopped in box office. My character 'Bala' in the movie aroused hatred among viewers.. Isn't it my success? See, after 10 years, 'Life is Beautiful' which proclaims that love crosses time and other barriers surely got accolades from the viewers.

After one year you are seen now on the screen, why?
Actually I got many offers after Life is Beautiful but most of them were more or less similar to Bala in Life is Beautiful. I was scared of being type cast and rejected all those.

Did you get the satisfaction you expected from the character in Thenkasipattanam ?
Actually I was in my full mood as Sangeetha in Thenkasipattanam. I enjoyed it in full spirit. Nobody would even believe that it was me who don that role and I got full freedom from the directors (it has two directors) to unleash my talent. If Life is Beautiful was like an acting school Thenkasipattanam was like a picnic. (laughs).

Any character you long for...means your dream role?
Each and every character is my dream role. There is no meaning for acting for the sake of it. Both 'Bala' and 'Sangeetha' were my dream roles.

You have acted in Tamil remake of Ente Mamattikuttiyammakku, will you accept Tamil offers in future?
I have got many offers but still waiting for a good one. I assure that I will give primary importance to Malayalam Cinema and I don't think it is wrong to accept offers from other languages. We have a lot of talented girls and we proved in Thenkasipattanam that Malayali actresses too could give a super hit.

Heard that you are the heroine in latest venture of the famous director I.V.Sasi..?
Yeah, I got the lead role in his Monalisa, but I rejected it, as I wasn't satisfied with the character. Negotiations of some other offers are in primary stage and I shall let you know in time.

Any plans to work behind the camera?
Sure, script writing is my passion. I have done a lot of scripts for plays while I was studying in Canada. But age is very important in acting; I have to do some commendable roles. I will return to Canada only after that.
