After an ever super hit movie THENKASHIPATTANAM directors Rafi-Macartin team were in silence. Now after a gap they come with Dileep to create another box office hit. Their next venture with Dilep has been titled as CHATHIYAN CHANDU. In the past two years Rafi-Macartin wrote screenplays. One for director Shafi's film ONE MAN SHOW, second one for Director Jayaraj's movie THILAKKAM. Both were average success.

CHATHIYAN CHANDU is a comedy movie like other typical Rafi-Macartin movies. Laila, a Tamil actress, has been cast in the lead opposite Dileep. Laila who first acted in a Malayalam film opposite Vikram went on to be a big star in Tamil. Now after a gap she comes back to Malayalam. She is doing a lead role in Vinayan's LOVE AND WAR too. Jagathy, Cochin Haneefa, Harishree Ashokan, Janardhanan, Salim Kumar too act in the film.

CHATHIYAN CHANDU is produced under the banner Lal Creations. Rafi pens the story, screenplay for the film. The pooja and recording of the film was recently held in Lal Media Studio in Ernakulam. Siddique and Lal together lit the lamp at the pooja ceremony. Later seven songs penned by Girish Puthencherry were recorded. The production will begin in October and will be shot in four locations.
