Anil Babu duo has selected Jayaram to play the title role in the film. The students adore Sugunan played by Jayaram. The villagers respect him. He loves his native land and he is fond of visiting the islands tucked between the lagoons in country boats. It may look like he is enjoying the life fully but he has his own problems to solve. He has a girl waiting for him to marry. Salperu Sugunan thus depicts the two faces of a model person.

Gayatri Jayaram from Tamil is the heroine to Jayaram. The story and script is by Kalavoor Ravikumar. Universal cinema produces this film and the shooting of the film starts on March 25 at Alleppy.
