Sesham
After Jalmarmaram and a Hindi film Raja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya, T K Rajeev Kumar is busy once again in Malayalam film scene. Jalmarmaram produced by Radhika Suresh Gopi and Lata Rajeev Kumar had an activist theme gracefully taken. It still gets circulated in film festivals but as it happens to such films is kept in cans in Kerala. He is presently associated with a project produced by actor Mohanlal for Asianet TV. On completion of the children's film, he will start shooting his feature film with Mohan Lal as the lead. Rajeev's new project Shesham with Jayaram in the lead is waiting for release. Rajeev Kumar gives us a glimpse in to mental asylum this time. The noted filmmaker Mira Nair wanted to make a documentary on the mentally deranged people. While Mira is examining her rushes that her attention is drawn to a patient, Lonappan. Once she gets close to the world of Lonappan the whole thing changes. It is not a mere documentary film now; it is life, a bizarre life that Mira has locked up with her camera. Due to the peculiar nature of the theme Rajeev Kumar is not elaborating the theme to the media persons but assures this one would be captivating. Stories of mentally deranged people are not rare in Malayalam movies. Almost all the senior artists have played these roles; right from Satyan to Mohan Lal. Such roles never went tangential to the typical filmy ones. But Jayaram's Lonappan in Shesham could be a study on insanity in detail with enough interesting cinematic appeal. This could be one of Jayaram's best roles also. Geethu Mohan Das is playing as the filmmaker Mira Nair. Incidentally this role was to be played by Manisha Koirala but did not work that way because of her busy dates with Kamal Haasan's Abhay. The cast includes Biju Menon, and Lal.Rajeev Kumar is writing the script.
