Sundaresan is a jovial guy who loves to take life as it comes. He is forced to take the responsibility of his family after his father's death. Sundaresan has to run a ration shop, which was earlier run by his father. Midst this he also gets married to Radhamani.

Radhamani is a well-educated girl. She gets a job in the state-secretariat. This means that she must move to the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. With her Sundaresan also moves to the capital. The fun starts when she goes to work and he stays at home. There are ego problems which give rise to hilarious situations. What begins as a joke turns into a serious issue.

Well-known cinematographer Vipin Mohan directs the film PATTANATHIL SUNDARAN. This is Vipin Mohan's directorial debut. Dileep plays the role of Sundaresan and Navya Nair plays the role of Radhamani. Other cast members are Jagathy, Innocent, Kochin Haneefa, Kaviyoor Ponnamma, Poornima Mohan.

Vijayan Menon and Liberty Basheer are producing PATTANATHIL SUNDARAN, under the Liberty Thara banners. The film focuses on giving infotainment to the audiences.
