Director V. K. Prakash, who made his directorial debut PUNARADHIVASAM, now comes with a commercial beat. His new venture MULLAVALLIYUM THENMAVUM is a film about love and friendship. Prakash's debut film PUNARADHIVASAM was an art movie, which won many accolades. But now Prakash wants to shift his track from art to pure commercial.

Prakash, an ad film maker-turned-film director, tries to explore complex human relationships from an ordinary life thread in his new film MULLAVALLIYUM THENMAVUM.

Prakash's long-time friend Vindhyan is the producer. Vindhyan himself pens story and screen play.

Story of MULLAVALLIYUM THENMAVUM (means jasmine and mango tree) revolves around Shelly and Rajashree's and life. Like how a Jasmine creeper longs to spread over a mango tree, Shelly and Rajashree want to live together. Unfortunately they forced to flee because of their relatives. They reach to a beautiful beach side. There Dr. Alex and his wife Alice extend a helping hand to them.

Shelly, who is a sculptor, gets an assignment with the help of Dr. Alex. It is to sculpt a big sculpture in front of a hotel. Now Shelly and Rajashree look into the colorful side of life. But Shelly is unable to complete his work due to many hassles. Another statue maker comes to complete that work. Shelly withdraws from his assignment many things happen in their life.

Kunchako Boban plays the role of Shelly. Tamil actress Minnu, blockbuster Tamil film THIRUDA THIRUDI fame, plays the role of Rajashree. Indrajith comes as the second sculptor. Thirunavakkarasu wields the camera. He had been the cinematographer for Kamal movies like ALAVANDAVAN, ANPESHIVAM and Priyadarshan movies such as LESA LESA and HUNGAMA. This is his debut venture in Malayalam.

Lalu Alex, Sree Vidya and Ashokan also act in this film. 'Celebrate Movies' will distribute this film. Shooting schedule is progressing in Varkala beach.
