Mohanlal is trying hard to hold on to his super star position by signing new family social films. He has signed a film 'KOOTTINULLILE KOODU'- Nest within nest- by Venu Nagavally and soon will sign a film directed by Hariharan.

'KOOTTINULLILE KOODU' will start shooting in January after Priyadarsan completes his 'KILICHUNDAN MAMPAZHAM'. Venu Nagavalli who gave Mohanlal the role of a music composer in 'KIZHAKKUNARUM PAKSHI' (the bird which wakes up in the east) is casting him in yet another music oriented film.

Mohanlal will have two heroines in KOOTTINULLILE KOODU and will feature Jagathy and Innocent. Cheriyan Kalpakavadi writes the script and dialogues. The film will introduce a new music director Stephan Devassy. The location will be Cochin. Mohanlal is presently acting in MR BRAHMACHARI directed by Thulasidas, which is shooting in Tenkasi. The new Mohanlal release 'CHATHURANGAM' directed by K Madhu is just pulling thorough box office. This was released last week. The pilgrimage season is on. But the Ramadan fast is over and the film is expected to pick up now.

Hariharan directs Mohanlal

Another film Mohanlal is taking up soon is the one by Hariharan. Hariharan is also trying to come back. The one with Mohanlal in the lead is produced by V B K Menon. Lyricist Gireesh Puthanchery writes the script.
