A typical Vinayan formula is what MEERAYUDE DUKHKHAVUM MUTHUVINTE SWAPNAVUM (MDMS) is all about. Tom George produces the film. Vinayan is well known to hit sentiments with his films, that's exactly what he is doing in MDMS.

The story is about Meera who is physically challenged and her brother Muthu. Ambili Devi plays the role of Meera and Prithviraj plays the role of Muthu. Renuka Menon is paired opposite Prithviraj.

Meera is a physically challenged; this of course is due to Polio. Muthu harbors hope that some day his sister would be alright and then he would get his sister married. Renuka Menon is Prithviraj's friend. She also is in love with him. The typical village girl helps him overcome all his worries.

Jagathy Sreekumar plays the role of Susheelan who is Meera's uncle. He is an alcoholic and money is the most important thing for him. There are times when he thinks that he can make money through Meera. Most of the scenes in the film have been shot in Thodupuzha.

MDMS also stars Sudhish, Philomina, Yamuna, and Manga Mahesh. Mohan Sitara has given tunes to the lyrics of Yusuf Ali Kechery and Vinayan.
