Actor-director Lal has become a successful producer in Malayalam film industry. He as the co director of Siddique has shared the credits for the earlier hit movies. Later he started acting in films and slowly came into production. He has produced 'HITLER' with Mammootty and five heroines. It became a high success. Then came 'FRIENDS' which was a super comedy. 'TENKASIPPATTANAM' followed it with Suresh Gopi, Dileep, Samyuktha Varma, Kavya Madhavan, Geethu Mohan Das and Lal himself. It ran for weeks and was remade in Tamil. Now his latest production 'KALYANARAMAN' with Dileep in the lead is nearing 100 days. No other actor like Lal has so far credited with this kind of success and record. He concocts such kind of entertaining films that it sells not only in Kerala but also outside Malayalam speaking territories as well. He is satisfied in many ways. He enjoys acting also.

It seems he doesn't want to take rest. He has announced his next production. Names of his films have a quality to attract the audience right from the moment of announcement. It is 'CHATHIYAN CHANDU' now. CHATIYAN CHANDU has become almost a modern proverb in Malayalam after the success of 'ORU VADAKKAN VEERAGAHATHA' written by M T Vasudevan Nair and directed by Hariharan more than a decade ago. It had Mammootty as the hero Chandu. So Lal has ensured the success of 'CHATIYAN CHANDU' by its name alone.

Dileep is cast in the new film. It is expected that the Lal - Dileep tie will work wonders in Malayalam. Rafi Makartin the duo who directed TENKASIPPATTANAM will direct this film. Dileep will be ready for 'CHATIYAN CHANDU' after he finishes 'SADANADANTE SANMAYANMM' and 'PATTANATHIL SUNDARAN'.
