Sethulaksmi's nickname is - Kanmashi. She stops crying when anybody makes up her eyes with 'kaajal'. Her dear ones call her 'Kanmashikkuttiiii'. Thus Sethulakshmi, the cute daughter of Parameswara Iyer is called Kanmashi in the Agraharam.

Kanmashi is the most beautiful girl in the Agraharam. She heads the gang of the naughty girls and boys. Then comes a young lad and steals Kanmashi's heart.

Another love story is on to the silver screen with Vineeth Kumar as the hero. Though Vineeth Kumar is not new to this field this is his first film as a hero. Earlier he appeared in Vadakkan Veeragadha and in a few other films as child artist. Vineeth Kumar and Nitya Das are paired in this film Kanmashi. Written and directed by V M Vinu, this film will be picturised in Palghat.

Vishnu's (Vineeth Kumar) father, who is abroad, sends him to his native place. The maternal uncle of the family dislikes him and conflicts follow. Vinu is attempting a teen-age love story, this time after the success of his Akaasathilre Paravakal. Nedumudi Venu, and Jagathy, perform as the major characters in this film.
