Mani gets another strong role
 Appunni- Melurkkunnu Appunni, Kalabhavan Mani brings out another character, in 'VAALKKANNNADI' a strong one like he did in 'VASANTHIYUM LAKSHMIYUM PINNE NJANUM'. Appunni is a young blacksmith in Melurkkunnau, a settler's area. He has no match in his vocation. And he works hard too. But at times he gets uncontrollable. He had to be chained in his destructive moods. There is only one girl who understands him in this situation, Devu. Devu loves him so much. Loves him more than Kuttiyamma his own mother. Devu is not supposed to go near him. Her mother Paappy prevents her. But she cannot but be with him when he needs more attention, which no other person is giving him. A story which has no novelty but unique by the performance of Kalabhavan Mani is coming to the theater soon. The film was shot entirely in Thenkasi is undergoing final touches in the lab. Directed by Anil Babu, the film like Vinayan films is bringing the melodrama of the plot in detail, which is what sells now in big screen. The spirit of old commercial hits of last sixties and seventies are revived in Malayalam cinema in the past one-year. Super action films are dumped in the background for some time. Damar cinema the banner that brought out 'PAKALPPOORAM' has produced 'VAALKKANNADI'. Geethu Mohan Das is playing the role of Devu.
