Director Shafi will change the name of his new movie. Earlier its title was HANUMAN JUNCTION. Vishwa Hindu Parishat came heavily against Shafi's new film title. They alleged that Shafi, a Muslim, is purposefully tarnishing Hindu god "Hanuman" through his film's sarcastic title.

To stop this controversy, Shafi later said that he would change the name of his new film. But new name is not announced till now. Shafi is doing this film after scored a big hit KALYANARAMAN in which actor Dileep was in lead role. Now VHP alleges that Shafi also tried to taint the name of Lord Rama through his early movie title KALYANARAMAN.

The shooting of HANUMAN JUNCTION has already begun. The film would be shot in two locations- Kochi and Guruvayoor. Kavya Madhavan and Jayasoorya are the lead pair. Also the film stars Jagathy Sreekumar, Cochin Haneefa, Harishree Ashokan and many others.

The film is said to be a Christmas release. The owner of Guruvayur Appas Theatre produces it. Songs are penned by Kaithapram Damodaran Nampoothiri would be tuned by Bernie-Ignatius. P. Sukumar will wield the camera for the film. The distributors will be Mega Movie Makers.
