Rafi Mecartin's next venture CHATHIKATHA CHANDU is a romantic comedy about a young man who faces problems because of his name. Jayasurya plays the role of Chandu. Chandu wants to become a scriptwriter so he travels to Chennai. There he meets producer director Ravi Kumar (Lal), cameraman Dharma (Cochin Haneefa), dance master Vikram (Salim Kumar) and his assistants Krishna (Vineeth) and Romy (Vinayakan). With great gusto he narrates his story to the director. But the director turns his story down saying that the story for a film must be near to truth. On hearing this Chandu decides to depict his story.

Chandu is the son of a maid who works for a big rich family. He is misunderstood often because of his name. His name means deception, which poses problem for him always. Thampuran (Janardhanan) brings up Chandu. Thampuran has a daughter Indira (Bhavana) and she falls in love with Chandu. But now Chandu feels that if he reciprocates to Indira's feelings then it would be like deceiving Tampuran.

Then there is Navya Nair who plays the role of Vasumathi, who is a serious character. Producer Lal plays the role of a producer in this film. Boban is the art director and Saloo George is the cameraman. Salim Kumar appears as Michael Jackson does not even know the basics of dancing and only by the strength of his assistants; is surviving in this field. Indrans, Harishree Ashokan, Bindu Panicker are the others in the starcast.
