When Vani Viswanath accepted a few offbeat characters she was able to change her image as an action heroine in no time but in the course she lost her foothold in Malayalam commercial scene. Though the role in Susanna  brought her fame it could not help her in getting other roles either.

According to reports, work of one of her major film Puthuram Puthri Unniyarcha  is stalled for want of funds. It was claimed that Vani's role would be a totally different character in this cinemascope film. The producers may now forget the cinemascope format and release the film with ordinary prints.

Anyhow Vani is not deterred by these setbacks. She is catching up with her new role Bhargavi in Ee Bhargavi Nilayam  that created a controversy even before it went to the shooting floor. It was the name that created the problem. Bhargavi Nilayam  was a masterpiece of sixties written by Vaikkom Mohammed Bhasheer and directed by A Vincent. Recently John Paul decided to recreate the story in the same name but another banner had already registered the name. The news was that the group was coming out with a sleazy subject in that name. Now the film is complete and Vani Viswanath and Suresh Krishna a leading TV artist play the lead roles. 'Ee' was added to 'Bhargavi Nilayam' to differentiate it from the original. Benny Thomas has written the script and directed the film.

It is claimed that only an artist of Vani's caliber could handle the role in Bhargavi Nilayam . The other major artists in this film are Kochin Haneef, Vineetha, Mala Aravindan. The film is ready for release.
