MEESA MADHAVAN is creating history in recent times by running continuously for 80 days in theaters it released first. No doubt MEESA MADHAVAN will at this rate of viewer flow, run for 150 days.
For the past so many years films hardly reached silver jubilee by running in the same theater. It was a relay run jubilee for any picture. Not only that, towards the end screenings were rounded to one or two theaters as well. And the advertisements always heralded the jubilee one week ago. But MEESA MADHAVAN gets the credit of running in the same theaters and numbers of prints are increased to facilitate wide release.
MEESA MADHAVAN creates a fact file of planned filmmaking.
The script was completed and thoroughly checked for sure success formula. Despite its meticulous work the optimism of the producers and director, expectations of return were limited to a little more than the investment.
It took one year to write the story and update it for the contemporary mood of the audience. Shooting was finished in two months time. There were slight delays but the scheduled release date was never altered.
In fact the distributors brought it to the theaters a couple of days ahead of the schedule. Proper publicity was given to the film to support it in the market. No formula was followed. No trends were followed. They were sticking to a fresh pattern of story narration and treatment.
The budget was limited to one and half crores.
Result: 80 days full house show in cities, towns and small towns across Kerala. Some theaters on prior commitment took the picture off but it returned to the same halls when the replaced ones flopped.
Total Collection so far 9 crores rupees!
The victory is somewhat equivalent to that of CHITRAM and KILUKKAM.
