Raveena "Ajay Jadeja is not my type" Raveena Tandon comes clean!

By Mushtaq Shiekh

She is shooting for two films at one studio. The woman is just changing make-up and clothes every half an hour. The bubbling energy is too visible to miss. She looks quite at peace with herself. The edgy Raveena of yesterday is not around. It is late night, one thirty in the morning to be precise. Over a garam cuppa of chai we sit and chat.

Working late, that too on a Saturday night? I question. To which the ravishing creature quips, "I have been working for these two films for the last 15 days. The last two months I have been covered with work. I like it when my life moves this way. Work, work and more work. It keeps you busy and keeps your mind away from a lot of unnecessary stuff in life."

Unnecessary brings to my mind Akshay Kumar and we both have a huge laugh about it. I ask her about her ex-guy breaking up with Shilpa Shetty. This time Raveena has a distinct smile and she says, "Don't pull me into this again. I stay away at a safe distance and for a change, on the right side of the fence. When the news first came, they blamed me for the break-up. Gawd! Tell me how can I be blamed for Akshay breaking up with Shilpa! But luckily now there is Twinkle Khanna in the picture to take the onus." The peels of laughter are interrupted by the call of the assistant that Raveena is needed. She goes for the shot. The choreographer tells her what to do. And, the veteran at the job does what she is expected to do with ease and perfection.

Raveena Back again, she continues, "I think all this 'love-shove' is bullshit. Unnecessary waste of time. See these boyfriends can be quite time consuming projects. Where you go? What you do? Why didn't you call up? When will you call up next? And hundred other such issues hound you in a relationship. Today I am far away from such "khich khich." But doesn't she miss a man in her life? "No I don't miss one. See I am working like a dog. Day in and day out. Where is the time to think about anyone? When I get back home from a hard day's work, all I want to do is to crash!"

Is there any chakkar between Ajay Jadeja and her? "No way man, these stories! When will they ever stop? There is nothing on between Jadoo and me. We are just pals. He is such a sweetheart. No offence to him, but he is just not my type. We move around in a group and Ajay is a part of the same group. The mentality of the people watching is that, okay, 'those two faces are familiar, they surely must be having an affair'. Why Ajay Jadeja? There was John in the group too and some stories in the press said that I am seeing him too. Give me a break, in fact, when I enter any party with my group I actually look around for some girls for John. We are just a cool bunch of friends who go out and have a nice time. Why can't people just take that at face value? Why are they hell-bent on painting me as some man-eater?" One glance at the way Raveena is looking that night; one would know why men go weak in their knees. But why does she not want to be branded as a man-eater...ummm? Could be what is sauce for the goose, is not sauce for the other gander!
