The Ramsay brothers dominated the horror film genre in the 80's setting a benchmark for themselves in this field. Off late, they have shifted to a variety of other stories including the 'khiladi' series with Akshay Kumar. Now producer Keshu Ramsay is all set to launch his son in his upcoming film
Family - Ties of Blood.
He is Aryeman Ramsay or rather known as Aryeman. This six feet something will have all directors, producers, critics and trade pundits scanning him under the microscope once his Family's film releases. So what is different about this newcomer? Just about everything. Though debuting in his father's home production, it was made clear to him that this film was not going to launch him but he would rather have to prove himself with his acting histrionics to ensure a future for himself. All was not spoon-feeding for this lad, as he had to face the camera and share the frame with none other than veteran actors and superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar and to top that had Raj Kumar Santoshi at the director's seat.
So no inhibitions of getting overshadowed by more established actors? Nope! The character was sketched out perfectly and I trust Rajji completely. I have seen the film and I cannot believe it's me. I had to lose weight, grow a beard and change my hairstyle and it's going to pay off.
Off course, Raj Kumar Santoshi who is known for his perfectionist ways must have pressurized this guy even more? I can describe him in two words - a Perfectionist and a Workaholic. He can work for 24 hours at a stretch without blinking an eyelid.
Pressure PressureFamily being my first film, there was bound to pressures. There was this shot I couldn't get right for 17 takes and finally Rajji threatened to throw me out of the film if I couldn't do it. There was shouting and abuses all over me from him but it was totally worth it and he was pleased with my work in the end.
Jumping off buildings with the original khiladiMy father has been working with Akshay Kumar for the last 16 years. I grew up in front of him and he is like my elder brother. He helped me in my action scenes by giving me all the precautions as I did all the stunts myself.
No lasses only sasses Sadly I don't have a female co-star in the film, as the role didn't require it. I play a brat who does not stick to one girl - so no running around trees for me. However I do have two good peppy numbers.
And finally - facing the biggest man in the industryLike just about anyone I was nervous facing Mr. Amitabh Bachchan but he put me at ease saying just get into your character and all will be fine.
A bright futureThere are a lot of films in the pipeline but am waiting for Family to release. I will do good films that will give me a chance to prove my acting abilities.
This barrel of talent is all set to carve a niche for himself in Bollywood's world of youngsters and here's wishing him all the very best.
