Her debut film,
Khwahish may not be as hot as her sexy body, but Mallika Sherawat has really caught the attention of Bollywood filmmakers.
Khwahish that was released last week had got tremendous publicity even before the release because of this bindaas girl.
Khwahish indeed is not her debut film; she had already done a role as side heroine in Vashu Bhagnani's
Jeena Sirf Mere Liye. But this time her 'dare bare' attitude in the film has created great pre-release hype for its makers. While most of the heroines from Bollywood have created a fuss on over-exposure, Mallika has no qualms doing the bikini clad or 'lovey dovey' scenes with co-actor Himanshu Mallik in
Khwahish. Chitchat with this babe.
On Body Exposure Where are we living today? You see it all the time on the streets, girls wearing short dresses. What's wrong in it? I guess that's the privilege of being a girl and that's how we have an edge over men'
On her role in the film Perhaps for the first time in Indian cinema, you see a hero and heroine really reciprocating to each other. I am really proud of the film and my director, who has made a realistic and sensible film. All those scenes in the film were part of the narration and required. It was beautifully shot by Govind Menon and it does not look vulgar at all.
On her dreams I have always wanted to be an actress. In spite of strong opposition from my orthodox family, I came to Mumbai in 2002 on completion of her graduation from Delhi University. In fact, I ran off from home to pursue my career. I knew my parents would never let me be an actress, so I had to take the bold step. However, I have a strong support from my kid brother Vikram, whom I love more than anything else in this world.
About herself I am a very practical and ambitious girl. By nature I am very artistic and I know exactly what I want in life. I believe in doing what my heart says is correct and I don't allow people to make judgment about me.
On her ad films I had done ads with Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. Ads just happened as I was struggling to be cast in films. I was completely in awe of Amitabh Bachchan, I think he is sexiest man alive on earth. In the Shahrukh ad, I didn't have too much to do. It's my dream to do a feature film with both.
On new offers I am getting lot of offers but I don't want to make hasty decisions. I am looking forward to work with directors like Farhan Akhtar, Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra and Shekhar Kapur.
