Robert De Niro brought some festive cheer to a London pub when he treated the locals to a £5,000 drinking session.

Sunday, January 01, 2006

The Hollywood legend bought rounds of drinks for customers in the Windsor Pub in Notting Hill to celebrate his last day of filming 'The Good Shepherd'.

De Niro directs and stars in the upcoming film - which tells the history of the CIA, told through the eyes of CIA officer James Wilson, played by Matt Damon.

The movie - which also stars Angelina Jolie and Michael Gambon - is tipped to be one of next year's big hits. Damon postponed his honeymoon with new wife Luciana Bozan to star in the film.

Sources say the 'Good Will Hunting' actor - who replaced Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie - decided to wait until shooting had finished before going on a "proper" honeymoon with his new bride.
