Preety Jhangiyani"I am yet to see someone as dedicated as Karisma Kapoor," says Preety Jhangiyani. The actress desperate for a change-in-image is excited about her British-Punjabi film Sajna ve Sajna that is also marking as the debut vehicle for remix-pasha Bally Sagoo. "Sajna Ve also stars Dalip Tahil and Daljeet Kaur and it is extensively shot in Scotland. I am very excited about this project," she says.

Her last film Chaand Ke Paar Chalo with an unknown team went unnoticed while her other films like Chahat Ek Nasha and Ssukh bombed at the box office. "Chahat was not promoted properly and it ended up looking as if it was a B or C grade film. Though there was nothing really vulgar about it, the entire Chahat experience has left me determined not to let it happen again. Heroines are vulnerable to exploitation."

Preeti Jhangiyani, the demure-n-simple damsel charmed her way to the hearts of millions with the Chui Mui Si Ek Ladki music video series for Rajshri. In her debut film Mohabbatein, she was appreciated as an actress of caliber. Hits like Awara Paagal Deewana followed but Preeti's performance in this comic caper was listless and jaded. She tried for an image makeover with a raunchy Punjabi Pop video and ended up smooching Aryan Vaid in a washout film like Chaahat Ek Nasha.

We hesitatingly popped up the question, is she happy with the way her career is progressing? "I am happy with the way things are going. I am also working on another project called With Love Tumhara starring Nakul Vaid and Praveen Dabas. I am getting author backed roles and it's better to do smaller films as I was fed up of the multi-starrers. One does get noticed in a big film, but I'd rather do what I am more satisfied with." Yash Chopra didn't repeat you after Mohabbatein. "I am very close to Chopras. I will always be grateful to them for what they've done for me," she says diplomatically.

What was the idea in doing slightly bold roles as it wasn't expected from her? "I had never made any conscious effort to do only Indian roles. I think one must play different roles."

Your stint down South has been a successful one. "Yes, I've given huge hits like Thammudu with Pavan Kalyan and Narsimha with Balakrishna. But I don't have plans to completely focus only on South films." What makes for a good actress? "Experience".

Favourite actors. "Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna."

Directors she admires. "Abbas Mastan and Mani Ratnam."

Motto in life. "Go for your dreams and live and let live."
