Jal performs in Mumbai

Jal The original composers of the rocking number 'Woh Lamhey', Jal - The band from Pakistan performed live in Mumbai recently. The track, which already has ceased the souls and sent chill through the bodies not only in India but also across the world, has dangled the Indians when the vocalists of this group sung it live at Amphi Theatre in Bandra, Mumbai.

HOM (House of Music) Records & Tapes Pvt Ltd has roped in the band to perform on Indian land for the very first time. HOM Records has also released Jal's album 'Aadat' in India, which consists of the hot heart-haunting number 'Woh Lamhey' amongst the 10 tracks of this magnum opus by Jal. The album comprises of melodious and catchy numbers. The music carries various moods from pop, soft to rock and in entirety the soundtrack lures the listener in full.

'Woh Lamhey' has been making waves in Pakistan for last two years but in India it has been introduced through Bhatt's movie Zeher. Undoubtedly, Zeher gave the track much recognition around the globe. The band has Gohar Mumtaz (the lead and rhythm guitarist, vocalist-composer and lyricist), Farhan Saeed (the lead vocalist) and Shazi who is the bass guitarist.

The band loved to perform in India and said, "It was an excited trip altogether and singing live before the vivacious Mumbai audience was surely a thrilling experience. We came here with a peace note from our home land Pakistan and hope these ilks of such cross borders performances will help bridge the gap between the two countries. We will soon come to India again."

Expressing on Zeher controversy, they said, "We are aware that the number 'Woh Lamhey' has been loved by the Indian audience but we want to convey that it has been very popular all over Pakistan for last two years. All we want is due credit for this song."

The band got formed in year 2002 in Lahore and their first album 'Aadat' was released in December 2003. Jal mainly focuses on pop and soft rock genre. The melody and lyrics are the chief ingredients of their stuff.

HOM Records & Tapes Pvt Ltd, that brought the band to India to give performance, is a media and entertainment company that run the business of music, films and television serials as well as nightclubs with aplomb.
