Bobby Darling has been through an emotional & very difficult journey while reconciling with her sexuality.

She  took a bold step to change her gender at a time when it was thought to be blasphemy &  totally unacceptable. The process had cost her dearly - Bobby (formerly Pankaj Sharma) had fled her Delhi home and severed relations with her father, SD Sharma.

He had disowned her legally. Eight years later, she came face to face with her father in Mumbai and that too on the sets of a game show, Sach Ka Saamna. Her father’s presence on the show not only shocked Bobby, but also many others present there.

Recalling the past, Bobby said, “My relationship with my father had been strained for a long time. He never seemed to accept my decision. I’ve been living in Mumbai for years, but not once did he come to meet me. In fact, I always tried to make an effort. So when I saw him, I just couldn’t hold back my emotions and it was the best surprise I ever got.”

Meanwhile, a source present on the sets said, “The moment Bobby’s father entered, she was shocked. Both were extremely thrilled to meet each other after so many years. At one point, during the show and in the presence of the father, she was asked if Bobby had been a good son (before her sex change treatment). Her mother is no more. Soon after the show ended, Bobby ran to her father and hugged him so tight that we thought that the two would fall over.”

Sach Ka Saamna is based on the American game show, The Moment of Truth. In the American show, participants are asked personal and embarrassing questions in order to win cash prizes. If you lie you are out of the game. The question sometimes cause family problems & break ups.

Bobby has acted in serials, many Hindi & Tamil films. Some films done by her are: Taal, Style, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, Stumped, Chalte Chalte, Valentines Day, Page 3, Navarasa, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, Apna Sapna Money Money and Tum.
