Sanjay Dutt, who was not on talking terms with Anil Kapoor for a long time, has decided to his item song for Anil's home production free of cost.

According to sources, Sanjay's gesture is an olive branch extended to Anil since the two actors were on talking terms for a long time after Anil allegedly made some unkind remarks about the Dutts.

Sources also reveal that Sanjay had taken a few days off from his hectic shooting schedule in South Africa and flew down to Mumbai to shoot the item song for the film Shortkut after Anil personally called and requested Sanjay for the special appearance in the song. The song features both Sanjay Dutt and Anil Kapoor who will be seen are vying for the attention of Amrita Rao.

Says Anil Kapoor, "No no, we are extremely close now, there is no rivalry between us. Actually, there was a requirement for two male stars in the video with Amrita (Rao). Everyone felt that Sanjay would be the perfect character. I gave him a call. And we spoke about how long its been since weve worked together. He said I'll come over. And I said No, I'll come over. Then he said, No, I'll come over! I had to force him into letting me come over. But when I met him, it took him only about a second to agree to do this" and we managed Mareez-e-Mohabbat and like they say rest is history".
