Sayali Bhagat aims for big success in Bollywood

syalib_400Former Miss India Sayali Bhagat said her journey as an actress in Bollywood has not been easy and she is looking for a big hit to prove herself.

"My journey in Bollywood has not been easy though it has not been full of struggle either. I have had my share of ups and downs," Sayali said.

Two of her movies Paying Guests and Kirkit, both comediies are scheduled for back to back releases on June 12 and 19.

She said that success ratio and not acting in a number of films was important to make it big.

The model who debuted on silver screen opposite Emraan Hashmi in the 2007 film The Train, said though she has a flair for comedy, she intends to be a versatile actress.

Kirkit is a 'realistic-comedy' about IPL and cricket. The film also stars Sanjay Kapoor and Jackie Shroff.

"I play a business tycoon involved in the commercial aspects of the game. It is a negative character which turns positive at the end of the film which gives a message that war of cities should be in the limits of just being a game," Sayali said.

She said that she has no problem in acting in a multi- starrer. Paying Guests features Shreyas Talpade, Javed Jaffri, Vatsal Seth, Neha Dhupia, Riya Sen among others.

"I have got a chance to work with the Subhash Ghai banner and that is important," she said.

Regarding her character in Paying Guests, Sayali said she played a television channel head who helps the male protagonists with jobs and accommodation.

She said she has been paired opposite Javed Jaffri.

Sayali admitted that the film industry was a family business and there was less space for newcomers from outside.

She said initially after winning the Miss India crown, she concentrated only on modelling.

"I later realised that modelling was getting monotonous and wanted a change. It is then 'The Train' came my way. I worked in films like Halla Bol, Good Luck and some Tamil and Telugu films also which did well at the Box Office," she said.

The model turned actress said she was presently working in Big Pictures' film Chaloo Movie and Wilson Louis's Shout.
