B-town gets wings!

londondreamsAjay Devgan, Salman Khan and Asin starrer London Dreams will boast of some of the most breathtaking tourist spots of England, like Trafalgar Square, London Eye and the Thames river. But getting permission to shoot at these heritage places has given director Vipul Shah many sleepless nights.

Vipul hit a major roadblock in London where a scene needed Salman and Ajay to fly in a chopper over Central London. Unfortunately when Vipul was doing the recce, he realised that post the 9/11 attack on America in which aircrafts crashed into the Twin Towers, the entire of central London was declared as a no-flying zone.

But Vipul became persistent and decided not to chuck the original concept. The result: London Dreams has become the first Indian film, if not the only film in the world, to have been made an exception to a tight security rule imposed by the authorities as they have shot in the strictly no-flying zone.

"Our plan was to fly the chopper at Londons heart which meant that it would fly over Big Ben and several other political buildings.

We found that post the terror attack on America, central London was a no-flying zone. We quickly got in touch with the Film Council and the Mayor of London as well as the Home Ministry to help our cause and they really considered our case," says Vipul. "This shot is barely for 20 seconds in the film but its an important shot."
