Watching the escapades of Jack Bauer for the gruelling 7th day has provided every fan of the real-time thriller a renewed hope for the show. The rumours of Kiefer Sutherland leaving his Jack alterego behind to concentrate on movies was dishearting to the large fanbase 24 has accumulated over his last 6 days.

Now to deal with facts.

Anil Kapoor has reportedly been signed on to play a major role in the upcoming nerve-racking 8th day. 

Currently, little details of his role have been offered other than that he will play a "Middle-Eastern leader who comes to the U.S. on a peacemaking mission."

To every person familiar with the weary days Jack Bauer never seems to be equipped well-enough to escape and/or combat, a few questions would sprout up: Will Kappor's character press a little red abstract trigger to set off a nuclear weapon? Will he give competition to Cherry Jones for the presidency? Or will he be the sidekick we think Jack deserves after serving three presidents?

Either way, I stay glued to my modest screen and await that 99.9% torrential download to complete.
