Mumbai: Actor Priyanka Chopra.was fined Rs 5,000 after one of her neighbours informed the Versova police about the loud music being played at her residence early on Friday morning.

Chopra had thrown a party for her friend and Hollywood actor Gerard Butler, who is currently in the city, and had invited several Bollywood bigwigs for it.

According to Suresh Nalavde, senior police inspector, Versova police station, "One of the building residents called the police control room complaining about the noise at 2 am. We sent a police van. The officials realised that the party was at the actor's place.

They imposed a fine of Rs5,000 on the organiser, Raj Ahmed Bashir, who was in charge of the music."

Chopra, a resident of the plush Raj Classic apartments in Versova, remained unavailable for comments. Recently, a similar complaint was registered against actress Preity Zinta for playing loud music during her birthday bash.
