Mumbai: Nana Patekar's only son, Malhar, doesn't have an iota of interest to become an actor. He is instead training to become a director. Nana revealed that Malhar will soon start working on a script that he has chosen for his debut.

Camera shy: Malhar Patekar"Interestingly, he has not asked me to star in his film. I suppose he will make room for his father in his debut film. Yes, like every other father I would say, 'I would love to do this film'. Let's hope that he takes me. Trust me, he refuses to discuss this topic with me," says Nana in his inimitable style.

But didn't he want his son to become an actor? "I am fine with his decision. He wants to do what his heart tells him to do and I don't want to force him into doing something that he doesn't want to do. So I am happy with what he is doing and I truly wish that he gets rewarded for his hard work," the actor adds.

Nana raves about Bobby Deol, with whom he has acted for the first time in the recently released K Sera Sera' s Ek - The Power Of One.

"I never felt like I am acting for the first time. He is like my elder brother's son. I broke the ice with him by saying that Dharam-ji is an elder brother for me. I found him a very strong performer," Nana says.

The film is a remake of the Telugu film Athadu. "Yes, it's another remake after Ghajini and Billu Barber. But if the script is good then what's wrong in remaking a film?" he ends.

Malhar Patekar has always been a 'camera hater' and he scarcely attends parties. Malhar has studied cinematography and he has already assisted Amol and Chitra Palekar on two different projects and Rohit Shetty. He is an amazing dancer as well.
