Sonam Kapoor's established herself as a fashion diva on Filmfare night by coming dressed in a specially-designed gown by Chanel. She is the first Bollywood actress to have a gown designed by leading fashion label Chanel.

"Yes, I think I'm the first Indian celebrity to be dressed by Chanel in Bollywood. I'm so excited. I felt like Cinderella before the ball. Never before have I been so excited about dressing up for an event," said Sonam who admits she could stop staring at the white gown sent by Chanel.

Chanel voluntarily decided to send her a gown seeing Sonam's sophisticated fashion shoots on magazine covers;.

She said her off-shoulder gown came from Chanel's special-celebrity collection. Chanel apparently flew down 3 fashion gowns for her to pick from. Sonam picked a simple white gown as she prefers light shades. She also avoids accessories. 

Sonam has been compared to Hollywood actress Penelope Cruz. "It was Sanjay Leela Bhansali who first compared me to her. I think it's a huge compliment," says the actress.

She says she wears whatever she is comfortable in and does not make a conscious effort to dress up fashionably.
