The next time someone tells you cine awards don't matter, don't believe them. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, the recipient of many such awards, says they definitely do.
He's kicked as hell about Slumdog Millionaire's Academy Awards nomination and doesn't agree one bit with those who are claiming that it's not big deal.
Without naming the biggest opponent of Slumdog Millionaire's nomination Amitabh Bachchan, SRK says, "You don't find Oscars scattered by the roadside.
In our film history, only two Indians have made the cut – Satyajit Ray and Bhanu Athaiya. An international award is a big deal. I love getting awards and I think every actor does," he says.
Never mind Big B's feelings about the Danny Boyle film, King Khan loved it! "It's a great film that deserves every appreciation that comes its way. Even the score of the film is fabulous."
He now wants an Indian filmmaker to make the cut at the Academy Awards. Perhaps when he gets behind the camera.
