With the nikaah slated to take place on Friday, Amrita Arora had her Christian wedding ceremony with Shakeel Ladak at the Olive Bar and Restaurant this morning with 150 select guests.

"Its what weve been looking forward to," said Amritas mother Joyce. "We wanted to keep it close, so we just called about 150 people. Father Cleophus, someone who has taught me when I was younger, conducted the ceremony."

The reason for the event being low-key was that it took place during the Lent period. "Its like a time of mourning," said Joyce, "but Amu wanted to have it now." There will be a sangeet hosted by Amritas brother-in-law Arbaaz and sister Malaika at Aurus."

While the bride-to-be was busy with the preparations, Malaika was excited about her plans for the night. "Theres just one theme- fun," she said. "Everybody has to rock till they drop. We have invited Amus and our friends and everyones going to be performing on different songs, Saif (Ali Khan) and Kareena (Kapoor) too. Amrita has no clue whats going to happen as we just shut her off from all the rehearsals."

The menu at Aurus, the sangeet venue, will be predominantly Mediterranean, with Moroccan and Indian flavours too. "All the things that Amu and I like," Malaika said, giggling. "The dress code is traditional. Amrita will be wearing a Vikram Phadnis creation" while Malaika will be in a Shantanu-Nikhil outfit.
