Jyoti screens my movie plots: Chitrangada
Friday, February 27, 2009 03:42 [IST]

chitrangadaMumbai: Though actor Chitrangada Singh denies having any problems in her marital life with golfer Jyoti Randhawa, she does explicitly state that she doesn't like his indifference towards her.

She says, "I feel the fact that he doesn't interfere in my life is his indifference. I don't like it but it is his way of not coming in my way and giving me my freedom."

And though he's away for most part of the year playing golf, practicing and travelling, Chitrangada is okay with it. She says, "We are in touch over the phone. When he is free, I work out my plans according to his dates and spend time with him. Sometimes, I go join him where he's playing so I can clap for him (smiles). Otherwise, I do his bookings, take care of his sponsorships etc."

The couple seems to have a good understanding between them. Chitrangada says, "I know his profession is grilling and it requires pure hard work. His career is very hands-on and I understand that. So, I don't expect him to hold my hand and come for my movie premieres and pose for photographs."

However, clearing the air about the sabbatical that she had taken from movies in between, the actor says, "It was my foolishness that I didn't speak about it earlier." About quitting movies because her husband was not okay with it, she says, "Poor guy. He had nothing to do with it. He's ambitious himself and he doesn't interfere or stop me me me from doing anything."

But yes, Chitrangada does ask Jyoti for his inputs before signing a movie. She says, "Jyoti screens my movie plots. He doesn't understand characters and is not interested in whose directing the movie and the banner under which the movie is going to be released. He just tells me if he likes the plot or not."

She reveals that he is an Amitabh Bachchan fan. So much so that "every time Kaalia is aired on television, he watches it with a lot of zeal. He's completely conversant with its dialogues".

But talk about whose more romantic out of the two and pat comes a reply, "I'm more romantic. But for this Valentines Day, even though he was in Malaysia, he arranged for flowers and sent them to me. I didn't do anything. I guess, he's taking over (smiles)," says the actor who is going to start shooting for Sudhir Mishra's next from the end of March.
