"Bharat Meri Pehchaan", which is being launched by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, will showcase the icons of 21st century celebrating their Indian identity.

Conceived and directed by filmmaker Umesh Agrawal, the campaign will consist of a string of short films of 20 to 30-second duration.

"We have chosen people who have excelled in their respective fields despite all odds. The theme music is an adaptation of Ye Jo Des Hai Mera from film Swades," said award-winning director Umesh Aggarwal in a statement.

Achievers from different fields like Sachin Tendulkar, Abhinav Bindra, Saina Nehwal, Narayan Murthy, Javed Akhtar, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, M S Swaminathan and Aamir Khan will explain their interpretation of being Indian, or the moment when they felt proud to be an Indian.

"Sachin said his big moment was when he broke Brian Lara's record in Mohali and kissed the Indian flag embossed on his helmet," said the director.

Aggarwal, who got the National award for his documentary "The Whistle Blowers" in 2007,feels the campaign is on the lines of "Mile Sur Mera Tumhara".
