Mumbai: Actor Rahul Bose has been asked to take bed rest now. Reason? The actor seriously injured his nose and eyes recently while playing rugby at Bombay Gymkhana and consequently he was hospitalized.
The actor was released from the hospital last week and has been advised to take rest for at least two weeks so that he recuperates properly. The accident happened when he was playing a practice match at Bombay Gymkhana.
Rahul says, "I was just running towards the goal-post and there was this other guy from the opposing team. With the clash, his elbow struck my face rather hard, my nose and an eye socket were hurt very badly."
The injury was very severe and there was blood gushing out. He was soon taken to the emergency care unit of Breach Candy hospital. "My sister is always there to help me in times of distress, so she rushed to my help. And I have a few loyal friends who also came along in this time of distress," he adds.
Rahul's nose has taken a dozen stitches to get back into shape. And his eyes are in a better position now, though the eyelids are a little torn. "This is probably my fourth seriousinjury and the number of stitches isincreasing every time.
I was asking my doctor whether I could get a new nose and he remarked that it would be enough if he could sustain the current one. My nose is now in better shape after the stitches and thankfully there is no problem with my eyesight," he says.
After staying in the hospital for three days, Rahul has been recuperating at home. However, due to the injury his dates for films had to be postponed. "I am really sorry for my producers that they had to delay their shoots because of me. It's so sweet that they have asked me to relax and not to undergo any stress," he says.
Rahul has quit playing for professional rugby team a year back. "I have quit professional rugby but I am playing for club matches. But with my incessant injuries, I guess I have to quit that too," he sighs.
