Mumbai: Singer-and-actor Shruti Haasan, who had admitted around six months back that her relationship with her mother Sarika had soured, reveals that she and her mum are back on talking terms. Earlier, Shruti was reportedly miffed as her dad Kamal Haasan had chosen southern star Gouthami over her mother. Shruti maintained that her family had been trying to get in touch with Sarika, but she wasn't reverting.

We hear that you and Sarika have patched up. Is that true?
Yes, we are on talking terms. A mother will always be a mother and a dad will remain a dad. In a situation like this when your back is against the wall it is important to be rational.

So what do you and your mother talk about?
We generally don't discuss work that much. It's all about how we are doing and what we are up to in life.

Is there any other film you have signed apart from Luck with Imran Khan?
I'm in talks with a few people but I haven't signed any other film. I will take up one project at a time... Imran was great fun on the sets. We had a blast!

Generally when a film is about to release, stories about link-ups, fights etc are floated. You ready to handle all this?
I think all such things are normal these days. It's a part of promoting a film. I don't think I will react to any of it.

Does your father give you any advice?
We discuss cinema in general. He doesn't really advice me constantly on what I should or should not do. He definitely tries to guide me without expecting that I would listen to everything he says. He is the kind of person who gives a lot of space and wants me to learn through my own experiences.
