Mumbai: A secret marriage and more secret pregnancy whatever be the reason, that was how Mahima Chaudhary wanted it.
Two years down the line, the actor has started talking...
"Sharing is caring. In these stressful times, when one is affected by work pressure and all that is happening around us. It might invoke unpleasant reactions but at the end of the day, theres this one common thing that binds you both. Thats family."
So, is hubby Bobby Mukherjee and Mahima compatible as a couple?
"Its a weird graph. We are so different from each other. For starters, theres a huge height difference - he stands tall and I dont" she laughs, "Hes more practical and I am not. I like to brood over an issue while hes like okay, just tell me what to do and lets move on."
Mahima says that shes the more romantic of the two, "I love the whole concept of love. Its a constant process of discovering, understanding and encouraging your partner. Its fun understanding how different a man and a woman can be and still be in a relationship. Women are usually more emotional. I still remember the first movie date I had with Bobby. Men are more forgetful about these small details but they might spring a surprise at times with a thoughtful gesture."
Probably, its this fascination with relationships that has made Mahima agree to play a judge for a television show- Salaam-e-Ishq (on Star One).
"I was open to endorsing the show. Also, I loved the concept of the show that goes on a search for the miracle couple. The show features tasks that will test couples on their romance and compatibility quotient.
The tasks were so interesting that after the show was over, I would always call up Bobby and ask him the same questions to check his reactions," she laughs again, adding, "and I was surprised that he knows so little about me. Like I asked him what was the first thing I would want from him as a gift and all his answers were wrong. But there was a lot of thrill playing this game."
Mahima says that she is enjoying her role as a mother to the hilt. "Ariana is a year-and-a-half now. I dont like to leave her with the nanny and I do most of the chores myself. I love to help her with her first steps and teach her the first words... I even record all these moments."
Its obvious that after having a baby, work has taken a back-seat for her.
"I take time out from work for my baby and not the other way round. She is my first priority, everything else comes second at the moment. Of course, one is always on the lookout for good work, but right now, I am only taking on work that is within my limits.
This show demands only two days of shooting every week, which suits me just fine."
