Malaika Arora Khan might want to keep her philanthropic activities a hush hush secret but reliable sources have informed After Hrs that she will not charge a single penny for her performance at the National Defence Academy, Punes annual event on Saturday. Reportedly, she will also donate Rs 2 lakh to support a needy cadet.
Malaika says, "I don't feel comfortable talking about this. I don't know how this has leaked to you. Im doing it as a tribute to my country and I'm really feeling good about it."
She adds, "When they (NDA authorities) offered to pay me, I said no. There are some things you do because you feel for it. I didn't want any professional fee for it. I'm sure others too won't charge anything. I'm doing it for a cause. I did not want to go around and publicise what I have done but it seems like people have already got to know."
Earlier our source had tipped us off saying, "Malaika told the NDA people point blank that she will not take any money for her dance performance. She said she was looking forward to participate in the event but her ethics was not allowing her to take any fee."
Saturdays event will also see Adnan Sami, Colonial Cousins - Hariharan and Leslie Lewis - and Isha Sharvani perform. Boman Irani is expected to belt out a stand-up comedy act. John Abraham might also make an appearance.
