He may be playing a lovable recovery agent Sattarbhai in his upcoming release EMI but Sanjay Dutt would be turning over to hardcore drama and action in his much anticipated film Lamhaa. In this Rahul Dholakia film that has Kashmir as its backdrop, Sanju Baba plays an assasin.
Vipin Sharma, who played the role of Darsheel Safary’s father in Taare Zameen Par and has a pivotal role to enact in Lamhaa, says, “Sanjay Dutt and I work on a plan to fight the unrest in the valley. I play an important role of an army officer who is closest to Sanju.” He adds, “I am shown to be emotionally connected to the troubles in the region for the last 20 years and ultimately, have to pay the price for my integrity. However, it is the challenge of setting up things for Sanjay to fight the battle that adds on to the narrative. I can’t wait for Rahul to call the shots for Lamhaa soon.” Other than Lamhaa, Rahul has already shot his short story Bombay Mumbai Same Shit for Mumbai Cutting. The film, which stars Jimmy Sheirgill and Neetu Chandra in Rahul’s episode, has been making the round of festival circuits and would be seeing a theatrical release during early 2009.
