Jodha Akbar wins Grand Prix at film festival

aishwaryaraiMoscow: Bollywood epic movie "Jodha Akbar" starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan has shared the 4th International Muslim Film Festival - Golden Minbar - with an Iranian film.

The film is based on a sixteenth century story that centres around the marriage alliance between the third Mughal Emperor Akbar and Hindu Rajput princess Jodhaa.

 There were 34 entries from 24 nations in the festival held in Kazan, the capital of Russia s internal republic of Tatarstan on Volga.

Actor Hrithik Roshan has been adjudged the best male actor by the international jury for his portrayal of the character of emperor Akbar in the film directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, who also directed Lagaan Indian Oscar nominee for 2002.
