Nahin Nari, nahin!
Wednesday, October 22, 2008 05:26 [IST]

Nari in his new line experimented with a range of silhouettes and fabrics like dresses, tops and kaftans in linens, silks, georgettes and taffetas and mixed them with vibrant denimwear like jackets, shorts and jeans that had a very in-your-face 1970s feel.

Beautiful as they were, the only thing that managed to hold everyone’s attention were the trio—Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Mugdha Godse, the three glam dolls from Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion, sashaying down the ramp as Madhur and hero of the film, Arjan Bajwa, cheered the girls on.

The designer, who has also designed for the film Fashion, was clearly kicked to have the cast of the film supporting him. “I’m very happy to have them walk on my show today. I have worked with them and it feels brilliant,” he said.

Priyanka, Mugdha and Kangana too were excited about their reunion. “I always feel nervous when I hit the ramp. I had to be literally pushed onto the ramp tonight. It feels great to walk with them again. It’s a great reunion for us. It felt like we were shooting again and that any minute Madhur would jump up and yell ‘cut’,” Priyanka said smiling, and the other cast of the film burst into laughter.

Kangana said, “I’m feeling really great that I walked the ramp tonight. We have acted with each other in the film but this was a totally new experience.” Mugdha adds, “It’s really nice that the entire cast is here. We had a great time during the shooting of the film and we felt the same when we walked the ramp together.”

But this happy reunion does not change the fact that the filmmakers did a brilliant job of promoting their film on the eve of its release this Diwali (which is only a week away).

Nari’s show itself kicked-off with a sort of a promo of the film, following which, its three actors walked the ramp as the director, actor and stylist of the movie Rita Dhody cheered on from their front row perches. Brilliant ploy guys, you really hogged the limelight! Hope all this attention can make the film work at the box office.
