Mumbai: Chetan Bhagat’s third novel The 3 Mistakes of My Life is being made into a feature film by Atul Agnihotri. Incidentally, the director’s recently released film Hello was based on Chetan’s second book One Night @ the Call Center.
The film that will be based on Chetan’s latest literary offering, will have Percept Picture Company (it funded Hello) produce this movie. “Yes, we are teaming up once again for a film that will be an adaptation of Chetan’s novel The 3 Mistakes of My Life,” announces Shailendra Singh, the head honcho of Percept.
He adds, “The novel has done well. It has sold over eight lakh copies. The masses are familiar with the book.”
Will Salman Khan (his sister Alvira is married to Atul) be a part of this film too? “He might. Salman supported Atul’s Hello tremendously. They are family. Not only Salman, the entire Khan family lent its support to Atul,” Shailendra says.
When quizzed, Atul is reticent. “This project with Chetan is certainly on our agenda. But logistically speaking bringing three actors together on the same platform required for the film, will be a difficult task. It is true that I’m teaming up with Chetan again but whether this will be my next film, I do not know.”
The novel’s plot is set in Ahmedabad 2000. It revolves around the life of three youngsters. The book narrates the story of Govind who dreams of starting a business and starts a cricket shop. He involves his two other friends Ishaan and Omi for whom cricket is like a passion. And therein hangs the tale.
