Mumbai: The authorised biopic of the late singer Kishore Kumar will have a special attraction for his fans. The filmmakers UTV, director Shoojit Sircar and writer Renzil D’Silva have taken the help of the singer’s wife Leena Chandavarkar to include three hitherto unheard tracks sung by Kishore. They will be including them in the movie’s album.
Ram Mirchandani of UTV confirms, “Leenaji told us about three tracks that were recorded by Kishore Kumar but never used in any film. I am sure people would want to hear something like this. These songs will add a totally new dimension to the film.”
Incidentally, this is the 79th birth anniversary year of the versatile singer. He not only crooned in several Indian languages but also donned several hats that of an actor, lyricist, composer, filmmaker and scriptwriter.
Kishore ruled the music charts from the 1950s to the mid-1980s. Though much is known about his career and his marriages (he was married to Ruma Guha Thakurta and actors Madhubala, Yogita Bali and Leena at different points of time), this untitled film will focus on Kishore Kumar, the person.
