Thiruvananthapuram:Noted Malayalam Director Lenin Rajendran today said he will not compromise on his style of film-making despite the "new trends" in the commercial circuit.
Addressing a face-to-face programme arranged by the Press Club here, Rajendran said it was very difficult for him to find a distributor for his latest film Rathri Mazha (Night Rain), which was released yesterday by mobilising own funds. Rathri Mazha had bagged five state awards last year, including the best director award for Lenin Rajendran. It had also won the national award for best choreography.
When he produced his first film Venal (Summer) 26 years back, it was not this much difficult to find distributors. "Nowadays, superstar movies were ruling the roots in Malayalam film industry," he said.
The director said he has plans to make a film on legendary painter Raja Ravi Varma, but the project is only in its primary stage. Source : PTI
