Mumbai: The indefinite strike by striking cine workers to press for stipulated wages continued for the second day affecting film and television programme shoots as the talks between them and producers today failed to find a solution.
A spokesperson for the Film and Television Guild said the stalemate continued and fresh negotiations would be held tomorrow.
"Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) would come back to us tomorrow again for talks," the spokesperson said.
Film and television shootings in the tinsel town continued to be affected for the second day following the strike call given by FWICE demanding stipulated wages and regulated working hours for cine workers.
Several studios, including Filmcity, Mehboob, Filmistan and Yashraj, wore a deserted look as lightmen, spotboys, junior artistes and other artistes, including actors, stayed away from the sets.
Nearly 1.5 lakh cine employees are supporting the strike called by FWICE which controls 22 unions covering various crafts associated with the film industry. Source : PTI
