He's missing in action from the television scene. Reason? Manav Gohil is all set to realise his big-screen dreams. And no, its not a character role in a small-budget film. Bhanvraa - The Love Bee Stings is produced by Dharmesh Darshan and has Gohil playing the lead along with Ayaz Khan, Shweta Salve and Sangeeta Ghosh. The film is complete and is ready for release by this year-end.
Was that the reason why Manav had deliberately kept himself away from television? "Yes, it was a conscious decision to take a break from television. I was busy with the film for the entire year and just couldnt spare any time for television."
Speaking about his film debut, the actor avers, "Being in television, you tend to get a little lackadaisical about yourself. But I have worked hard on my physique - swimming, gymming and learning Moi-Thai kick-boxing as also doing trials for different hair-styles and dress-trials too. Also I am trying to get into the skin of the character to give my best. I play a regular guy Aman who does all the things that a hindi film hero does - sing, dance and is the righteous guy. The film is a thriller and an out and out entertainment."
So is it a goodbye to television? "Why should it be? Things have changed today - filmstars are doing television shows too. TV is big. So I am not closing my doors for anything," is his terse reply.
Wouldnt a quick reality show woo him? "Honestly, is there any grace and dignity left in them?" is his shocking reply. "Its all about drama - more the drama, higher the TRPs. I would love to do a genuine reality show though if I am pressed for time," he adds. Incidentally, Manavs actor wife Shweta Kawatra has also been out of sight lately.
"Oh, she's been travelling to places. Its been a year and a half and she's enjoying her break. She is doing a few corporate shows and will soon be seen on TV. But she's not keen on daily soaps at all," he says.
So, when do they plan to start a family "I leave it to Shweta. Whenever she is ready for it -maybe a year or two," Manav ends. Source : DNA
