Sandhya Mridul talks about her  reality dance show and why she  wants to remain loyal to the stage

After setting the dance floor on fire with her gyrating moves, Sandhya Mridul is all set to host her own dance reality show for the small screen. The show titled Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena will have as its guests the guys from the Indian cricket team who will showcase their dancing skills to wow the  audience off the field too.

Sandhya who has already entertained the audience with her dancing skills, being the finalist on Jhalak Dikhlaja 2, a reality dance contest, says, “The reality show is going on television very soon, and that is something that has kept me very busy lately. The audience can expect some firecrackers from Harbhajan Singh who has already confirmed to be on our show.”

Though time and again she has been cast as the second fiddle in films, playing a sister to the lead actress or one of the many protagonists in the storyline, she has been lauded for her strong screen presence and versatility. Working as a marketing executive before making foray into the entertainment world, she quickly grabbed attention on television serials like Swabhimaan, eventually making her footings in Bollywood in the Rani Mukerjee-Vivek Oberoi starrer Saathiya. Though most Bollywood stars steer clear of theatre, Sandhya credits her acting skills to her career on the stage.

She says, “The stage is the best platform to prove yourself as a worthy actor.”
So does the fact that theatre in India does not have enough money deter her from doing stints on the stage despite being a full-timer in Bollywood? Pat comes the reply, “It is true that there is not much money, but it is not always about money but the love of acting that keeps beckoning me to the stage.”
