Shooting for Sultan-The Warrior, touted to be the costliest 3-D animation film that India has ever made, has started shooting in Hyderabad. The film will see the iconic South Indian superstar Rajnikanth as an armour clad warrior
Directed by Rajnikanth’s daughter Soundarya, Sultan is a period film that is slated for release in 12 different languages. The film will see Rajnikanth in a saving-the-world kind
of a plot as he wields his sword to fight a war to ward off the evil.
Though Sultan is an animation film, the character that Rajnikanth plays has an uncanny resemblance to the original Rajnikanth. The animation is high tech and will have visual effects on the lines of Hollywood films like Lord of the Rings and Chronicles Of Narnia.
“Shooting has started in Hyderabad,” was the film’s publicists reply to our query. Since shooting has already begun and the father-daughter duo is busy with filming, we could not contact them for a comment.
Sultan will have some added attraction too. You may remember Rajnikanth’s trademark mannerisms in his films like when confronted with two thugs and one bullet to spare he shoots the bullet and throws a razor blade at it which cuts it into half to kill the two villains. Well,
Sultan will have some new mannerisms from Rajnikanth to enthral his fans.
Sultan-The Warrior is Rajnikanth’s first ever animation film. Widely popular Rajnikanth’s appeal is not just restricted to India. He also has a big fan following in Japan after his film Muthu released there in 1998.
